What can you
expect for your money? Our rental prices include: |

- All taxes.
- A Complete vehicle kit, full propane bottle,
first aid kit, car-safe, pots and pans, map of the Netherlands,
campground guide(s), Euro road-signs brochure etc.
- Breakdown services throughout
Europe during the rental period. In the unlikely event of
mechanical failure and even a substitute vehicle (car
; size/type depending on local availability) in case
your Motorhome or Campervan cannot be repaired within 48
hours.
- 24hr. Alarmservice (in English) all
over Western Europe for any emergency personal or medical
within W-Europe.
- Full comprehensive insurance with a
Euro 2500,- deductible ( reducing this deductible to
Euro 750,- is possible at Euro 8,- per day with a minimum of Euro
200,- per period, however, not available in the wintermonths
nov.-march)
- Full third-party/collision
insurance.
- Stereo radio-system with cassette
deck or CD player, GPS navigation system on all motorhomes and
campervans in sound (English) & vision (LCD screen) throughout
the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. Other Western European
countries at a surcharge per country.
- Maintenance service and repairs for
wear.
- Unlimited kilometers during the rental
period for periods longer then 10 days. For periods of 10 days and
shorter ; 250 kilometers free per day, extra kilometers at 20
cents per kilometer.
| What is the
flat rate service fee? |
|
The flat rate service fee is Euro 75,-
It is payable once per rental. It includes
the handing over of your vehicle ready to drive including
full fuel tank, full cooking-gas bottle, fire-extinguisher, full fresh water tank,
empty waste watertank & toilet cassette + toilet chemicals, transfer from/to
Amsterdam Central Station and for full instruction
on the use of the vehicle as well as normal- and insurance administration.
Both interior and exterior check up of all equipement.
The vehicle is clean before it is handed over to you. On
returning the fuel tank should be filled up, the exterior and
interior as well as all sanitation should be clean. The waste
watertank and toilet cassette should also be empty. Failure to do so
is charged at a Euro 100.- for cleaning the exterior, Euro 100.- for
cleaning the interior and Euro 100.- for cleaning/emptying the
sanitation.
| What are the
additional costs? |
|
The vehicle will be handed over with a
full fuel tank, and should be returned in the same state. Fuel costs
and operating costs must be paid by the customer. All costs that are
incurred in the actual use of the vehicle are for the hirer's
account. Namely, these include the costs of fuel, cleaning costs,
tyre repair costs, shelter, glass breakage, fines etc. The rental
prices are always from the pick-up point (Arrantea - Amsterdam) to
the return point (Arrantea - Amsterdam).
| What are the
conditions for booking and payment? |
|
Motorhome reservations are only
binding after written confirmation by email or fax. You will receive
the confirmation when the RV is available in your renting-period and
Arrantea has received your initial payment of 50% of the agreed
total with a minimum of Euro 400,-. The remainder of the rental
charge must be paid at the latest 50 days before the beginning of
the rental period. A security deposit of Euro 2500,- in cash OR
valid credit card information is required at departure. We accept :
Visa, American Express, Master- and Eurocard payments in Euro's or
the equivalent in other currency's. Arrantea-conversion rates are
determined daily. The deposit is returned within two weeks after
return of the vehicle in acceptable condition. The (authorised)
valid credit card info is held a bit longer in case traffic
violations during the rental period have taken place and police
fines needs to be charged. All extra charges payable, for instance
for "extra's" or "missing items" or "damage due to own fault
other then normal wear and tear" etc., will be deducted from
the security deposit when the vehicle is returned.
| How does the
pick-up and return of my RV work? |
|
Before your journey begins, it is
absolutely essential that the renter / hirer receives instructions
of the use of the vehicle. Be mindfull of the fact that it will take
some time for we want to be absolutely sure you understand the use
of the vehicle and its features to the fullest, for your (and our)
convenience. The pick-up and return days are charged as one day,
provided the period during which the vehicle was rented on these two
days does not exceed 24 hours. Collection and return times are
Monday thru Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you want to return
your RV after the time agreed, please contact us immediately. We
will try to find a later return time. If the vehicle is returned
after the agreed time without our permission, we will charge Euro
25.- per hour (but not more than twice the daily rate) and we
will pass on to you any claims for compensation damage which the
subsequent renter or anybody else may take against us as a result of
delayed vehicle supply.
| What happens,
if the renter / hirer cancels the rental? |
|
If the hirer cancels the rental before
pick up, the following portions of the renting charges in accordance
with the reservation dates shall be payable: 50 days or more prior
the rental beginning 20%, 30 days or more prior 40%, 15 days or more
prior 60%, less than 15 days prior 80%, on the day of the rental or
in the unlikely event that the RV is not accepted 95%. If the motor
home is returned early, the full contractually agreed rental charge
is payable.
| What is the
minimum age to rent an RV? |
|
Customers of our motor homes must be at least 25
years to rent a B- C-type motorhome or 22 years old for the A-type
campervans. Drivers must have a clean driving license for at least
two years. However, the licence must be in English characters for
Arrantea to read. The drivers (and passengers) should also carry a
valid passport. The renter / driver is liable to all local (traffic)
laws during rental period and will be held responsable for any legal
action taken during rental period.
| Where can you
go to in Europe? |
|
Hirers may enjoy free travel all over
Western-Europe, incl. Scandinavia, but not in Ireland, and
England and Scotland (were they drive on the leftside of the road)
or in war- or disaster zones. It is not permitted to go to
Ireland, and England and Scotland for the steering wheel and
camperdoor(s) of our vehicles are on the wrong side and we
therefore cannot guarantee your
safety... If you want to travel in countries outside Western-Europe
a written confirmation and an additional insurance (which can be
truly extensive and expensive if available at all…) from Arrantea is
required beforehand.
| What is the
minimum rental period and are there any
discounts? |
|
The minimum rental period is five days. You get
5% discount for rentals of 21-30 days and 8% discount for rentals of 31-40 days.
10% for periods longer then that. Special discounts for extremely long periods are determined per
season / timeframe. Unlimited kilometers for all campervans and motorhomes for
periods of 11 days+...
| Transfer
needed from the airport? |
|
Tranfers from the airport in Amsterdam
can be arranged upon request. The round trip ( pick up + drop off)
for up to 4 people to and from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is 75
Euro.
Arrantea Motorhomes reserves the right
to offer you a similar or bigger vehicle if the chosen RV is not
available if possible. In this case, the customer is not liable for
higher rental charges. If a smaller RV is offered and accepted, the
difference in charges will be refunded.
| What exactly
are the restrictions ? |
|
All Arrantea vehicles are stricktly
non-smoking . Pets are not permitted ( as many people are
allergic to pets ) Driving restrictions : Arrantea rental units
are not permitted to travel into Great Brittan or Ireland (were they
drive on the left side of the road). This is due to the fact that
the steering wheel and camperdoor are on the wrong side for those
countries. Arrantea rental units should always be picked up and
returned at Arrantea in Amsterdam(north). Rental units are not
permitted on unsealed roads, off-road, sandy-beaches or across
country. Vehicle may not be submerched in water or come in contact
with salt water. If these terms are breached the client will void
all damage cover, waive all refundable monies and be held for any
and all damage and recovery costs. Overhead roof and
undercarriage damage is exluded from any insurance ! Any overhead
roof and undercarriage damage will be fully charged to renter /
hirer. Remote area
travel is stricktly at the client's risk. Windscreen damage and
tyre replacement is always at the client's expense in remote
areas. In the event of an accident or breakdown in a remote area,
recovery costs to the nearest official repairshop/garage is at
the client's expense. Arrantea does not rent out Motorhomes in
December, January and February, unless in very special occasions and
specificly agreed in writing, well in advance.
| Mechanical
Breakdown / Repairs / Accidentst / Fines? |
|
Arrantea vehicles are extremely well
garage-maintained and checked thoroughly and regularly, reducing the
likelihood of needing repairs. Any unforseen but needed repairs up
to Euro 50,- needs no authorisation and all that is neccesary
for full reimbursement from our depot is a proper receipt for the
amount of the repairs. Authorisation must first be obtained from
Arrantea if the repair is more then Euro 50,- and authorisation must
also be obtained before tyres can be replaced. Replacement costs for
shreded or otherwise damaged tyres will not be refunded unless
caused by normal wear. All rented Vehicles include breakdown
services throughout Europe during the rental period. In the unlikely
event of mechanical failure and even a substitute vehicle (RV
; size/type depending on local availability) outside of the
Netherlands if your Motorhome or Campervan cannot be repaired within
48 hours. The failure of accessories are not considered a breakdown
and no down time will be paid. No responsibility for accommodation
charges, meals, change of itinerary or out of pocket expenses
resulting from a breakdown or accident will be accepted. In the
event of an accident there is no refund for monies paid for the
unused portion of the rental. Arrantea Motorhome Rental, Amsterdam
reserves the right to charge any traffic infringement notice,
parking fine or unreported third party damage direct to the
customer's credit card.
