General Informations - Countries of the Europe

| Between the countries of Western Europe (incl. Scandinavia), the rented motorhomes may be used without any restriction with the exception of England, Scotland, Ireland (were they drive on the left side of the road) and Iceland. Travel into Eastern European Countries is also not permitted by Arrantea Motorhomes. Most of the Western European States signed the Schengen Agreement. Between those countries having signed, there are no longer regular passport and custom controls at their borders. Even though travelers must carry their passport or ID card with them. Also for driving a motorhome a valid driver's license is necessary. All commercial goods and article for trade must be declared to customs authorities on both sides of the border.Persons residing outside the countries of the European Union may ask for a refund of the paid Sales Taxes (VAT) for items bought in the EU and taken back home. All items for which a Sales Tax (VAT) refund is requested, must be presented to customs control together with the cash receipt when leaving the EU. On each single receipt the amount paid for Sales Tax (VAT) must be shown. Please discuss the refund procedure in the shop when buying. Please note, that Sales Tax (VAT) is always included in the prices. Even if it is not shown separately on the price tags. yellow = country of the European Union which signed the Schengen agreement. There are usually no more passport controls within the EU countries when crossing the borders from one state to another one. However controls might be established for certain reasons. orange = country which is not belonging to the European Union but signed the Schengen agreement. There are usually no more passport controls at the border when traveling from an EU country to this country. However controls might be established for certain reasons. purple = left driving countries of the European Union. Arrantea Vehicles are not permitted to go to Iceland. Nor Ireland, England and Scotland, the only countries in Europe were they drive on the left side of the road. This is due to the fact that our 'continental' models have the steering wheel and camperdoor on the wrong side for those countries and we therefore cannot guarantee your safety on the road(s). Meaning that the camperdoor(s) exit to the middle of the street instead of the shoulder / sidewalk / pavement and therefore extremely unsafe especially with children... green = country not belonging to the European Union. When traveling into and out there are passport and customs controls. blue = Eastern Europe. It is not permitted to travel with any Arrantea Vehicle into these countries due to insurance restrictions. | ||||
